Abiator's MAGIC LESSONS
Effect: The magician takes out 2 decks of cards.
He/She
gives one to a volunteer, and keeps the other for him/herself.
The volunteer
must do what the magician does.
The magician tells the volunteer to go through
the deck, and select any card, because that is what the magician will do.
After
going through the deck, and selecting a card, the magician and the volunteer
replace their cards in their deck, and switch decks.
After they switch decks,
they find their card in the new deck.
When both cards are put on the table and
flipped over, they are the same card.
Setup: Other than two decks of cards, this trick is 100%
impromptu.
Performance:
- Tell the spectator to "do as I do."
- Shuffle your deck, and tell the
spectator to do the same.
- As you square up the deck, note the
bottom card.
- Swap decks with the spectator
now.
- Take a card from the deck you have. Have
the spectator do the same.
- Put your card on top of the deck, and
have the spectator do the same.
- Cut the deck, and put the bottom half on
the top then have the spectator do the same.
- Switch decks again.
- Tell the spectator to find their card
because that is what you will do.
- Do not find your card, find the card
that you noted before that was on the bottom of the deck.
- The card to the right of (or below) the
noted card will be the spectators card. Just put it on the table, and you're
home free.
Tips:
This, like all card tricks, requires
that you actually practise it beforehand to see how it works, what can be
improved, etc.
