Every day she went down to the stream to collect water for her breakfast. One hot summer's day when she had collected some water she decided to go for a swim to cool off, so she jumped into the stream and started splashing around having lots of fun, when she slipped on a mossy rock and fell into a hole.
She fell down, down, down. It was like a water slide but with bright orange bubbles floating around. Daisy slid on this for ages when suddenly: bump! Daisy fell into a sunlit diamond forest. She looked around stunned at the diamond-leaf trees.
Daisy finally picked up the courage to ask the fairy her name and what she was doing and the fairy replied, "My name is Buttercup and I'm preparing the forest for the banquet we're having tonight for the Queen."
As soon as Buttercup had stopped talking they heard trumpeting in the distance. "You can come to the banquet if you want to," said Buttercup and Daisy decided she would.
Daisy had great fun there. There was great food, music and dance. She was having so much fun that before too long it was all over.
The fairies showed her the way out. She thanked them, grabbed her pail of water and went back to her home.
"You were away for a long time," said her grandmother.
"I went....... for a swim," answered Daisy.
"Oh, okay. Well you better hurry or ther won't be enough heat left on the fire for you to boil the water for your breakfast," said her grandmother half-believing her.
Daisy's grandmother never did fully believe Daisy nor did daisy tell anyone about the fairies.
