One day he yelled, "Wolf, wolf!" and all the townspeople went up to the hills to save the boy and the sheep, but there were no wolves so they went home again.

The next day the boy called, "Wolf wolf!" again, so again the people went to save him and the sheep but there were no wolves. They got annoyed and went home again.

But, the next day, there was a real wolf and the boy yelled again, "Wolf, wolf!" but no-one came because they thought it was a joke. So the boy and sheep got eaten and that was that.
