ALPHABET KEY

Research any mythical character and use the letters of the alphabet to record facts and other information you find out about your character.

BRANSTORMING KEY

Imagine you have Pandora's Box, and you want to open it because you don't know what's in it and you're curious - and you also don't want to get in trouble if something bad happens. How would you open it?

SYNTHESIS KEY

Nike brand goods (shoes, etc.) are named after the Greek goddess if Victory. The Apollo Space Programme was named after the Greek god of the sun. Ajax floor cleaner was named after a powerful Greek warrior who fought at Troy.

Invent your own product and name it after a mythical or legendary character. Remember, though, your product should share some of the attributes of the character you name it after.

You might like to draw and label/caption some of your ideas.

ALTERNATIVES KEY

List between 5 and 10 quality ways wealthy people could help poor people without giving them cash/money.

INTERPRETATIONS KEY

A horse with wings is standing in the middle of the school field.

Draw a picture and give between 5 and 10 reasons for this.

COMBINATIONS KEY

List the attributes of a spider and a box, then combine the attributes [Help] into a single object. Try to come up with more than one idea.

B.A.R. KEY

B.A.R. any mythical beast or creature.

B - Make one part bigger
A - Add something extra
R - Replace one part with something else.

Draw your new design and include appropriate explanations/descriptions.

INVENTIONS KEY

Invent your own mythical creature. Draw a picture, but also write a description to explain where it can be found, any special abilities, its physical characteristics, what it eats, and how it hunts.

PREDICTIONS KEY

Predict a new way of passing on stories like myths and legends on to future generations. Draw a picture and write an explanation.

VARIATIONS KEY

List between 10 and 20 ways can you help a lion that has been caught in a net trap.

Draw at least one diagram and write a description/explanation to clearly illustrate your ideas.

FORCED RELATIONSHIPS KEY

Using some mud, a key, and a dog, explain how you could re-capture the bad things that escaped from the box Pandoraopened. You cannot use any object in the way they were intended to be used!

CONSTRUCTION KEY

Construct a 3-D model of your favourite mythical creature. Include an information card to go with your model.

BLACK HAT KEY

When we wear our BLACK HAT we are thinking of the PROBLEMS and NEGATIVE POINTS.

List at least 10 disadvantages (BLACK HAT POINTS) of gods and goddesses.

REVERSE LISTING KEY

List between 10 and 20 extraordinary powers that human beings will never have.

PICTURE KEY

Use the squiggles below to complete a drawing relating to myths and/or legends. Write about your drawing to explain how it relates to a myth/legend.

JOURNALISM KEY

Imagine you have discovered drawings of an unusual and fabulous beast on a cave wall. Write the first couple of paragraphs of a newspaper report about this discovery, including your theories as to the nature of the beast. Include a drawing of the beast.
Your article should also include these important details: who, what, where, why, how.

VENN DIAGRAM KEY

Draw a Venn Diagram [Help] to compare and contrast any two characters from myths or legends.
