Now, what is a PUN?
|
Basically, a pun is a play on words which sound the same or similar, but have different meanings. |
For example, in this sentence:
"It was a long tale" , the word "tale" can be a pun because, if you say this sentence, it can mean a long story or a long tail of a cat or dog or something similar.
Another example of a pun is this: "We saw an old ruler", where "ruler" is the pun since "ruler" could mean a leader like a king or queen, or it could mean a measuring instrument .
