| [6] Out of the Frying-pan Into the Fire Bilbo catches up to the Company, but soon they are found in a clearing in the forest by wargs - or huge, evil wolves.
Everyone climbs trees to escape the wargs. Gandalf shoots fire at the wargs, but then the goblins come and they are nearly all killed but they get saved by the giant eagles of the Misty Mountains. The leader of the giant eagles is called the Lord of the Eagles. They are carried up to the eagles' eyries (nests) and rest for a while.
