In your books, write down the number of each line. Next to each line you must write down the correct form of any word which has been spelled incorrectly. If a line contains no error, tick it. There are a total of 10 (ten) errors. 1. When Turtle began his journy, he was confidant of sucess. Why, he 2. thought, I am brave, strong and intellegent. Of course I shall do this! 3. Turtle soon came to the edge of a strange river. It was black and frozen, 4. smelling of something wierd and unpleasant. 5. Close to the edge of the river, Turtle could see a thick white stripe, but 6. it didn’t seem dangerus. 7. Turtle started out across the black, frozen river. The white stripe didn’t 8. seem bad but Turtle scurried across it as fast as he could, anyway. Before 9. long, Turtle came across more white stripes, but these were short and 10. seemed to be following each other. 11. Suddenly, there was a low rumble. Turtle could feel deep vibrations 12. in the river under him. Soon, Turtle could hear a growing thunder. Louder 13. and louder it became until Turtle thorght the hole world would collapse. 14. He pulled himself into his shell. Suddenly, the roar died away to a low 15. growl and Turtle felt himself picked up into the air. He wobbled about a 16. as he seemed to be moving. Suddenly, he felt the ground beneath his 17. shell agian. 18. “And stay off the road, you stupid turtle!” came a shout. 19. Suddenly, the thunder surrounded him again until it slowly dyed away. 20. After a long time, Turtle peeked out of his shell. He was on the other 21. side of the frozen black river now! Somehow, the thunder had carryed 22. him to the other side. Smiling, Turtle continued on his way! 12.
